Silvia Alvarez, age 90, of Beavercreek, went to be with the Lord on October 8, 2024. She was born in Camaguey, Cuba, on April 30, 1934, the daughter of the late Jose and Teresa Alvarez. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Manolo Rodriguez.

Silvia is survived by her loving son, Manny (Betty) Rodriguez; grandchildren, Carolina (Josh) Pfeiffer and Danny (Janna Deyhle) Rodriguez; great grandchildren, Kendall, Kamila and Kinsey; and many other loving family and friends. 

Silvia worked for many years as an Executive Administrative Assistant for a Certified Public Accounting Firm and the Sales Department for a Radio Station (Estereotempo), both in San Juan, Puerto Rico. She attended St. Brigid and St. Luke Catholic Churches. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and keeping in touch with her friends on the telephone. Silvia always had a very loving nature and will be remembered for her beautiful, warm smile. 

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Thursday, October 24th, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek where Prayers will be held at 6:30pm. Inurnment will take place at a later date, where she will be placed beside her husband, at Byron Cemetery, Fairborn.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Nurses and Staff of Village at the Greene Nursing Home for the wonderful care given to Silvia, as well as the numerous friends and family who visited her.
