FANNON, Silas J., age 75, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away at his Jamestown residence on May 14, 2007. Silas was a dedicated union representative for the majority of the time he was at Delco Moraine and President of UAW Local 696 for 7 1/2 years. Silas served in the Airforce for 4 years. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church and was always known for his compassion and selflessness. Preceded in death by his parents, Mossie (Goldie) Fannon and Roy Fannon; 2 brothers. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathy Fannon; daughters, Paula (Joey) Ruzick and Pamela Fannon; his grandchildren, Mindy (Derrick) Smith and Kyle Westendorf; his great-grandchildren, Shayla and Cameron Smith; sisters, Mae Ely, Pearl (Boyd) Dalton, Ida (Bill) Price, and Fayetta Helton; brothers, Paul (Rita) Fannon and George Fannon, as well as many more friends and family than can be mentioned. He will be missed more than anyone will ever know. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel where funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Perry Blyue officiating.
