Silas Burton, 73, of Middletown, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 15, 2018, after a long, brave, courageous battle against Chronic Congestive Heart Failure. He passed away at home with his loving family by his side.
Born on March 27, 1944 to the late Martha (Allen) Burton and Robert Burton. Silas joined the Army in 1962 and served as an Armor Crewman with Company D, 66th Armor Division at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He was Honorably Discharged in 1968 and was very proud to have served his Country. He moved to Ohio and worked in various paper mills, medically retiring from Bay West Paper Company after 20 years.
Silas was a hard working, humble man with an incredible sense of humor. He had the sweetest smile and laugh. He loved listening to Classic Country Music, watching Westerns, spending time with his family and attending services at his "little church," Full Gospel Outreach. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Silas was preceded in death by his Beloved Wife of 46 1/2 years, Kathleen (Cole) Burton; Mother, Martha (Allen) Burton; Father, Robert Burton; Sister, Eva (Burton) Grubbs; 3 Brothers, Adam Burton, David Burton, and Paul Burton.
Silas is survived by two daughters, Sherry Baker and Pam Burton; a very special Son-in-Law, Joe Baker; Adored Grandpuppies, Sebastian and Abby; Beloved Nieces and Nephews; Loving Church Family; and a host of special friends. Special Thanks to his very special Home Care Nurse, Michelle Lovejoy and incredible PCA, Steve Wilson who have become "Family."
