Shirley Welch

Welch, Shirley, 82, of Beavercreek, passed away after Christmas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Rose (Zedeker) Plappert, her beloved husband John Welch, her siblings Henry, Thomas, Elma, and Geraldine. She is survived by her son Stephen and wife Nancy of Napa, CA, her daughter Jeri and husband H. Gregg Mohney of Beavercreek, granddaughters Jill Mohney and Samantha Welch and grandson Greg, numerous nieces and nephews, and special caregiver Kathy Swiadek. She will also be missed by her many friends at the Grand Court in Beavercreek. Shirley was born in Fairborn and graduated from Ohio University in 1950. She was very artistically talented and creative and a member and past president of the Beavercreek Arts Association. She was an avid golfer while being a member of the Walnut Grove Country Club. She and John enjoyed their years with the S'mores Camping Group. Shirley will be remembered for her well-informed and stimulating conversations, world travel stories, delicious cooking, and the reading of many stories to her young grandchildren. Shirley was the most loving and giving Mother and Grandmother. No visitations are planned. In her memory, please give to a charity of your choice.
