Shirley R. Walton, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on February 26, 1941, Shirley was a kind and thoughtful individual whose generosity knew no bounds. She devoted many years of her life to a rewarding career in customer service, where her warm demeanor and commitment to helping others left a lasting impression on all those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
After graduating from Belmont High School, Shirley became known for her nurturing spirit and unwavering willingness to assist anyone in need, often without asking for anything in return. Her selflessness and caring nature were evident in every aspect of her life.
Shirley had a zest for life that shone through in her hobbies and interests. She enjoyed traveling, with her proudest accomplishment being a long-desired trip to Hawaii. Additionally, she found great joy in crocheting, solving puzzles, and spending time outdoors while camping, experiences she cherished throughout her life.
Shirley leaves behind her loving family, including her sons, David Walton Jr. and Richard Walton; her daughter, Alisa Taylor; and her cherished grandchildren, David Walton III, Jaycee Murray, Christopher St. Felix, Dustin Murray, and Masyn Duran. She will also be remembered fondly by her great-grandchildren: Emma Murray, Scarlett Murray, Levi St. Felix, Hazel St. Felix, Eleynah Funderburgh, and Luka Duran.
A devoted sister, Shirley is preceded in death by her brother, Carl Wikle, as well as her parents, Lucille and Benny Wikle.
Shirley’s legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
