Shirley Lewis Thompson

Shirley Lewis "Bud" Thompson, age 86, of Huber Heights, passed away June 21, 2022. He was born August 5, 1935 in Gilmore County, West Virginia to the late Oris and Pearl Thompson. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Thompson; sister, Norma Jean Hiney; and his beloved dog, Smokey.

Bud is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Thompson; daughters: Susan Long, Terry (Ron) Phelps, Patricia (Mark) Meade and Shirley Carroll; grandchildren: Heather, Gillian, Justin, Belinda, Zane and Taylor; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bud was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He was an avid sports fan and loved going to the horse races.

A celebration of Bud's life will be held from 1-4 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Oak Creek Church, 4800 Bigger Road, Kettering.
