Shirley Ann Taylor "Parker", age 81, of Dayton passed away on October 23, 2018 in her home. She was born December 31, 1936 in Dayton Ohio.
She remained in Dayton where she married and raised 3 boys. Once her boys were in school she went back to school and became an LPN in 1975 and went on to graduate from nursing school in June of 1977. She retired from the VA Hospital after over 20 years of service.
Shirley was a loving mother and wonderful friend who loved gardening, old movies and reading. She enjoyed spending time with her favorite sister, Joyce Hand. She will be missed by all that were lucky enough to have known her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Amos and LaVerne Taylor, brothers Ronald Taylor and Kenneth Taylor.
She was survived by her children Arthur Parker, Randall Parker (Cindy Parker), and Scott Parker (Candance Parker). One sister, Joyce Hand (Bob Hand). Grandchildren: Alura Talmadge, Ashley Ricketts (Jason), Chrystal (Clint) Cross, Shiloh (Sarah) Richardson, Corey (Brittany) Baker. Great grandkids: Alyssa, Tristin, Isabella, Devlan, Pierce, Jaxson, Keith and Collin Cross.
It was Shirley's wish that there would be no service or visitation. She will be cremated, and her ashes will be spread in Old Piney, TN where her family is buried. The family would love to hear any stories you would like to share.
