Shirley Ruth Simpson, age 78 of Dayton, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 10, 1937 in Scott County, Tennessee the daughter of James and Bertha Foster.

Shirley is survived by her husband of 59 years, Harold Simpson; children: Patricia D. Simpson, Jeffrey A. Simpson and Monica E. (Lewis) McBride; grandchildren: Amy Kuhn, Valerie Payne, Maria Haskins, Jennifer Dettloff, Katie Simpson, Bradley Simpson, Matthew Simpson, Anthony Lewis, Bobby Hanahan, John Hanahan, Wesley Hanahan, William Hanahan, Steven McBride and Travis McBride; brother, Dennis (Clois) Foster; many other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Friday, July 22, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday. Burial to follow at Willow View Cemetery.
