Shirley Shults-Lairmore, who loved to be called "Nana" by her granddaughters, departed her loving family on January 26th, 2022.
Shirley was born in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee on March 12, 1948, to Clyde and Opal Purcell (deceased).
As a GM Union Committee-Woman, Shirley was known for her leadership, her laughter, and her tenacity to do the righteous thing for people in need above all. Her hobbies included treasure hunting, writing poetry, scrapbooking and being politically active for women's rights.
She is survived by her husband, Rickey Lairmore, her son Jason Shults, and her granddaughters, Jessica, Grace, and Emma Shults.
Aside from the grandchildren she doted on, Shirley is also survived by her niece Judy Jaco-Sexton, her nephews, Johnny Jaco, Jeff, and Dave Purcell, her great nephews Daniel and Nathan Purcell and her great niece Melissa Purcell.
Shirley now joins her siblings Danny Purcell, Billy Purcell, and Willa Jaco together in Heaven.
Services will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on February 14th (Valentine's Day – because she was so loved) from 10am until noon.
