Shirley Rose Knife, 79, of Huber Heights, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 20, 2013 at Miami Valley Hospital.
She was born August 22, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Andrew and Rose (Sabo) Smith.
Shirley loved cooking and collecting recipes. She also loved gardening, annual flowers, sewing, ballroom dancing and her cat, Snowball. Shirley enjoyed volunteering at Carriage Hill Metro Park conducting baking demonstrations.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, James E. Knife.
Shirley is survived by her devoted children, Cindy (Darrell) Freshour of Dayton, Kevin Knife of San Antonio, TX, Greg Knife of Huber Heights; two grandchildren Jordan and Janelle Freshour; brother Raymond Smith of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Shirley Ann Cochran; nephews Steve and Jeff Cochran. She is free and at peace but will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton where funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Monday, November 25, 2013.
