Shirley Ann Pfledderer, 85, returned to her heavenly home on February 12, 2018 after a valiant battle with a long illness. Shirley was born on April 10, 1932, to Christian and Ida Mae Daumer in Kouts, Indiana. The fourth of seven children, she is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elaine Martin, and brothers Richard Daumer, Bud Daumer, and Jerry Daumer.
Shirley loved her home and her gardens. Her true passion was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was blessed with a large and loving family.
Shirley will be loved and missed by her husband of 66 years, Vernon; sisters Wanda Abbott and Sandra Ridgeway; her daughter Michelle Kaney; her sons Chris (Gaile) Pfledderer, Craig (Cynthia) Pfledderer, and Jeffrey (Lynne) Pfledderer; her 16 grandchildren Shannon (Derrick) Lawson, Heather (Anthony) Petro, Jonathon (Valerie) Kaney, Kevin Kaney, Katherine Kaney, Andrew Kaney, Justin (Taylore) Pfledderer, Daniel Pfledderer, Sarah Pfledderer, Brandon Pfledderer, Christian Pfledderer, Sawyer Pfledderer, Aleksandra Kastl, Vilija Kastl, Eden (Mason Hines) Belk, and Bradley Belk; her 17 great grandchildren; and her beloved friend Janet Prince.
At Shirley's request, a private family gathering will be held to celebrate her life. The family gratefully declines flowers and donations, but prayers, condolences and memories are gladly accepted.
