Shirley Ann Newport

Shirley Ann Newport, age 80, of Dayton, passed away on November 19, 2023. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on February 2, 1943, the daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Gayman.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 61 years, Al Newport; children, Mark (Jennifer) Newport, Paul Newport and Angel (J.R.) Harlow; grandchildren, Joshua (Jiyeon) Newport, Jacquelyne (Adam) Fischer, Madalyn Newport, Amelia and Charlie Harlow; great grandchildren, James and Cameron; siblings, Ralph Gayman, Nancy (Bill) Dennis and Joe Gayman; and many other loving family and friends.

Shirley was a graduate of Julienne Catholic High School, Class of 1961. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for many years. She also volunteered for numerous organizations throughout her life and was a blood donor over 200 times. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, walking her dog, LuLu and spending time with her family. Shirley had a heart of gold and was always there for everyone. Her family meant the world to her and being a wife, mother and grandmother were her everything! She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 830 Bowen St., Dayton, where the Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton.
