MARSHALL, Shirley J. (nee DiSalvo), age 70, went peacefully home to be with the Lord, on Sunday April 15, 2007. Born to the late Angelo and Carmella DiSalvo of Dayton, OH. Preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Boone and Pauline Anderson and her brothers, Peter, Andrew, Carl, and Anthony DiSalvo. She leaves loving memories with her husband Gerald, sons Steven and his wife Tatiane, David and his wife Barbara, and grandchildren Carmella, Carson and Casey. Shirley is also survived by her brother Joseph DiSalvo and his wife Patricia, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. Her kindness, generosity, and loving nature will be missed dearly by all. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, and grandma who loved being with her family and was surrounded by them in her final days at Hospice of Dayton. Shirley lived her entire life in Dayton, OH. Before children, she worked at Standard Register. She took great pride in being a home maker. In later years, she worked at a variety of large organizations on a temporary basis and enjoyed her work experiences. She enjoyed cooking and was a fabulous baker. She volunteered her time at St. Leonard's Retirement Community and also prepared meals upon request for the Church of the Incarnation in which she and her husband were members. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 A.M., Friday, April 20, 2007 at the Church of the Incarnation, Centerville. The family will host a lunch reception at the church immediately following Mass to celebrate Shirley's life. Private inurnment will take place at the family's convenience at Calvary Cemetery.
