Shirley Johnson

JOHNSON, Shirley, age 82, of Riverside, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2014. She is preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Myrtle Smith; brothers, Ben and Robert Smith; sister, Nancy Hunter, and husband of 60 years, Jack Johnson.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Roberta Sheets of FL; children; Kathy (Bill) Biteman, Stephanie (Gary) Snyder, John Johnson (Jean Hankison), Linda (Jerry) Erbaugh, Brenda (Bruce) Roegner, Jack II (Kathy) Johnson, Leslie Johnson, and James (Leigh) Johnson; grandchildren, Joy, Erin, Courtney, Shannon, Hayley, Allison, Ashley, Brian, Heather, Kim, Nick, Andrea, Matthew, Carrie, Darrell II, Sarah, Patrick, Kelsey, J.T., Christen, Christopher, Jacob, Ryan, Beth, and Jeremy; 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

Shirley was a longtime member and sang in the choir at Dayton Baptist Temple. She also loved traveling and camping. Shirley was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, with interment following at Valley View Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at the funeral home. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hospice of Dayton.
