Matthews, Shirley J., age 91, of Dayton, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013.
Shirley is survived by her children: Scott (Marylynn) Matthews, Nancy (Tom) DeVilbiss, Dee (Denny) Edwards, Todd (Alma) Matthews and Patty (Dave) Nogle; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 4 step great grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband: Waldo Matthews; parents: Arthur & Deliah (Ackerman) Luck; and two sisters.
A Celebration of Shirley's Life will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1001 Harvard Blvd., Dayton, Ohio 45406. The family will receive friends at church on Saturday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. Interment will be held privately at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either Grace United Methodist Church or Hospice of Dayton in memory of Shirley. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel.
