Shirley Ann Humerick, age 86 of Kettering, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 8, 1936 in Gettysburg, Ohio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Alma Prather; two sisters, Marilyn Coffing and Dorothy Cromer; and brother, Gene Harshman.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, George Humerick; three children, George (Gail) Humerick Jr., Karen (Doug) Lewis, and Vicki (Dana) Weaver; four grandchildren, Adam Lewis, Dean Weaver, Meredith (Isaac) Mannier, and Carleigh Weaver; five great-grandchildren, Savannah Mannier, Brookley Kate Lewis, Sawyer Mannier, Brady Lewis and Hudson Mannier; and sister, Sandra Wheat. She is also survived by numerous family and friends.
Shirley was devoted to her faith and a long-time member of the First Church of the Open Bible. She graduated from Fairmont High School and later attended Miami Jacobs College. Shirley worked as an Administrative Assistant at the Jr. League of Dayton. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, and quilting. The most important thing to Shirley was her family. Shirley is loved and will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home-South Chapel (3940 Kettering Blvd. Kettering, OH 45439). Funeral Service will be officiated by Pastor Gary Petersen at 12:00 pm following the visitation. Shirley will be laid to rest at Mount Zion Park Cemetery (27 S Fairfield Rd, Beavercreek, OH 45440) following the service.
