Shirley A. Beem, age 75, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Wednesday September 22nd, 2021. Shirley was born in Dayton Ohio, the daughter of James and Naomi Tuck. Shirley was preceded in death by her father James Tuck and her mother Naomi Tuck; husband of fifty-four years Douglas A. Beem; and grandson Nathan D. Beem.
Shirley is survived by sons Daniel(Heather) Beem and Gregory Beem; brothers Robert(Sue Ellen) Tuck, Edward Tuck, and Larry Tuck(Cheryl), sister Wanda Long; grandchildren Kristin Beem, Jadyn Stargel, and Maxwell Beem; and great-granddaughter Ellie Beem.
Shirley and Doug were married September 11th, 1964 and lived in Kettering, Huber Heights, and Beavercreek before moving to their country home in early 1980 on Caesar's Creek just south of Xenia. Shirley enjoyed the country property and loved the wildlife, taking care of her flowers, and gardening. She also enjoyed crafting, sewing, and cooking.
Shirley worked for Walley and Son Custom Floors through the years taking care of payroll. She also worked for Sears as an interior decorator and worked for a company called Morning Pride making clothing for fire fighters. Her last job was at Trinity Nursing Home where she worked as an STNA for nearly 20 years before finally retiring. She was a dedicated employee and caregiver for others including her husband who she also took care of through a lengthy illness. Shirley was involved in the evolving sport of BMX throughout the 1980's, supporting her sons in their BMX endeavors. She enjoyed traveling to new places, spending time in Northern Michigan, and traveling throughout the Midwest going to BMX races with her sons. She was a loving mother, homemaker, and caregiver. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Shirley will always be remembered for putting the interests of her patients, her husband, her family and friends ahead of her own and she will be forever missed by her friends and family.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Monday October 4th, 2021 from 11:00 to 12:00 pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions-Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. A graveside burial will immediately follow at Mount Zion Park Cemetery located at 27 South Fairfield Road Beavercreek, Oh 45440.
