Sherwin B. Bowser

Sherwin B. Bowser, "Sherm," age 89 of Centerville, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Bethany Village. He was born August 4, 1933 in New Kensington, Pennsylvania, the son of the late William and Mary Bowser.

Sherm worked for the Kettering City Schools for much of his career, mainly as athletic director at Fairmont High School. His faith and family were the center of his life.


Sherm is survived by his wife of 67 years, Pat; children, Gary (Cindy) Bowser, Deborah (Bill) Karlik, Jeff (Terrie) Bowser, and Dave Bowser; grandchildren, Amy, DJ (Lisa), BJ (Carrie), Kristen, Joe (Aranda), Jeff (Alli), Jonathan, Adrianne, Cole (Kailee), Justin, and Sarah; great grandchildren, Phillip (Emily), Collin (Giovanna), Aubrey, Kelsey, Maren, Jack, Ellis, Samuel, June, Jonah, and Zoey; brother, Richard (Ruth); as well as numerous loving family members and friends.

Along with his parents, Sherm is preceded in death by his sister, Ruth; brother, William "Joe;" and great grandson, Henry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 16, 2022 from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm at Washington Heights Baptist Church (5650 Far Hills Ave., Dayton, Ohio 45429). A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 pm.
