Sherry L. Schaney, born on October 22, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2025, also in Dayton. A loving wife and devoted mother, Sherry's life was defined by her unwavering kindness and her commitment helping others.
Sherry attended Springboro High School, from which she graduated in 1985. She later furthered her education and earned a degree as a Paralegal from Sinclair College in 2017. Throughout her career, Sherry found fulfillment in her professional roles. She worked at Cassano's Pizza, where she had the joy of meeting her husband, Todd. Following that chapter, she contributed her talents at PNC Mortgage for many years.
Outside of her career, Sherry cherished the moments spent in her vegetable and flower gardens alongside her husband, Todd. Gardening became a symbol of their shared life, a testament to their love and teamwork. Sherry’s interests were as diverse as they were engaging; she enjoyed playing softball, volleyball, and basketball during her early school years. Shopping, playing Euchre and online games, and crafting were among her favorite pastimes. Additionally, she had a keen interest in studying genealogy and took great pleasure in planning family get-togethers.
Among Sherry's proudest accomplishments was her role in teaching Sunday School at Memorial United Methodist Church, where she nurtured the spiritual growth of countless children.
Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Todd; their two sons, Ryan (Sasha) May and James Schaney; her parents, William (Gloria) Moore and Dorothy Rayburg; her brother, William (Emily) Moore; and her long-time friend, Tracci Ramsey. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents.
Sherry L. Schaney leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to family and community that will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit and warmth will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.
