Shelby Marlin King

King, Shelby Marlin, age 72, of Xenia, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013. Marlin was a graduate of Beavercreek High School and attended The Bob Jones University and Cedarville College. He was a long time member of Xenia Church of the Nazarene and was very active in the Beavercreek Community.

Marlin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 52 years: Joyce A. (Howell) King; children and spouses: Shari Lynn (Doug) Davidson, Timothy Marlin (Pam) King, Tamara Jill (Ernie) Hudson, Kerri Michele King & Wendi Merideth (Gregg) Parkman; parents: Shelby & Dorothy (Smart) King; 17 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; 2 brothers; and numerous other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Xenia Church of the Nazarene, 1204 W. 2nd St., Xenia, Ohio 45385. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Zion Park Cemetery in Beavercreek. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Riverside Church of the Nazarene in memory of Marlin. Arrangements in care of Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel.
