Shelby Jean Deck

Shelby Jean Deck, age 85, of Dayton, went to be with the Lord and her husband on September 23, 2024. She was born on July 25, 1939 to the late Mitchell and Celia Perkins. She was a member of Meadowdale Baptist Church and loved to sing about Jesus. Shelby also played the piano by ear and loved flowers, but most of all, she loved her family. Her love and sense of humor will be dearly missed.

She is survived by one brother, Norman Perkins; her children, Mark Deck (Audrey) and Denise Chestnut (Randy); 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am on Monday, September 30, 2024 at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, in Dayton, with the funeral service beginning at 10:30am, officiated by Pastor Randy Chestnut. Following the service, Shelby will be laid to rest with Ray at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
