Shearl Eugene Mardis

Shearl Eugene "Buck" Mardis, age 85, of Xenia, passed away at Miami Valley Hospital on September 15, 2023. Buck was born in Dayton, Ohio on September 5, 1938 to the late Shearl and Lucile Mardis.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. Don Mardis.
He is survived by loving wife of 65 years, Marilyn Mardis; children, Edward (Kelly) Mardis, Kathleen (Steve) Pain and Bryan (Debra)Mardis; grandchildren, Ashley (Bryan) Meilinger, Alex Mardis, Hillary Mardis and Brynna Mardis; great-grandson, Ethan Meilinger; sisters, Shirley (Bob) Stavick and Betty Zimmerman.
Buck retired from the printing industry and was an Army reserve veteran. In his free time, he enjoyed watching car racing, Ohio State football and bowling.
Visitation will be held from 10:00am-11:00am on Friday, September 22, 2023 at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd. Beavercreek) where services will begin at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
