Shawn Michael Reuber

Shawn Michael "Big Country" Reuber, age 42 of Dayton, was tragically taken from us, January 14, 2019. He was born April 10, 1976 in Dayton, Ohio.

Shawn was preceded in death by his grandparents, Raymond Reuber and Wyonna and Edna Mae Basham.

Shawn was a '94 graduate of Dunbar H.S. He attended Eugene Bible College and graduated from Sinclair Community College. He worked as a tree arborist. He grew up attending Calvary Open Bible Church and attended First Church of the Open Bible for many years. Shawn was a friend of Bill W.

Shawn's proudest achievement was his daughter, Katelyn and his grandbabies. He was always willing to help anyone in need, would give the shirt off his back and never met a stranger. Shawn was very loyal and was deeply loved by his family and friends. He was very kind-hearted and had a great, funny personality. Shawn enjoyed playing games, family meals, spending time with family and joking around. To know Shawn is to love Shawn.

Shawn will be missed by his, mother, Sherry Colonel; father, Barry Alvis; daughter, Katelyn Hoefer (Josh); grandchildren, Paisley and Aria; sister, Colleen (Pat) Mallory; nieces and nephews, Caitlin, Connor, Olivia and Selly Mallory; aunts and uncles, Daniel Reuber, Sr. (Maryann Caldwell), Eugene (Prudence) Reuber, Cheryl (Rich) Evans, Sandy (Danny) Dyer, Dave Alvis, Robbie (Donnie) Swallows; cousin Lee Beach (Sharon) as well as many cousins and friends.


Family will receive friends Friday, January 18, 2019 from 5 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio, Pastor Gary Peterson, officiating.

A memorial fund will be set where contributions may be made.
