Sharon A. Turner, age 71 of Vevay, Ind., formerly of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 at Hospice of Dearborn County. She was born November 5, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio to John and Lila (McLaughlin) Baer. Sharon was married to Russell Turner, who preceded her in death.
Sharon loved horses and was actively involved with the Therapy Riding Institute, a therapeutic horse riding program for the disabled. She was a quiet and independent person, willing to help anyone and asked for nothing in return. Sharon was also a carrier for the Dayton Daily News for over 20 years. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed by all.
Sharon is survived by her three sons, Jim Spence, John Spence and Brian (Katherine) Spence; four grandchildren, Adrian Clark, Brian Clark, Kylah Spence and Chelsi Bailey; one great grandchild, Aryanna Clark and one on the way; eight brothers, John Baer, Philip (Joanne) Baer, James (Carol) Baer, Kenneth (Betty) Baer, David (Mary) Baer, Thomas (Trish Babbit) Baer, Robert (Patti) Baer and Christopher Baer; two sisters, Karen (Lester) Weller and Mary Louise Baer; a sister in law, Cathy Baer; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Russ; a brother, Daniel Baer; and a sister and brother in law, Marilyn and Bob Culberson.
Visitation will be held on September 7, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Beavercreek Chapel, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio 45432. Funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Valley View Memorial Gardens.
