Sharon R. Parshall

Parshall, Sharon R. (Steck), age 67, of West Carrollton, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2008 after a lengthly illness. Sharon was a 1963 graduate of the University of Dayton and was an avid Dayton Flyer Basketball fan having season tickets from the first season in University of Dayton Arena. She managed Central Savings Association for many years until going to work for Steck Manufacturing. She was very active with TWIGS at Childrens Hospital, was a notary public, and loved crafts, knitting and ceramics.

Sharon is survived by her husband of over 33 years: James; mother: Alice Steck; brothers: Raymond (Shitsuko) Steck, Mark Steck; sister: Sandra (Richard) Henry; sister-in-law: Janet Steck; and numerous other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her father: George L. Steck; brother: Laurence Steck; and sister-in-law: Kathleen Steck.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at Newcomer Funeral Home (South Chapel) 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in Kettering. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Dayton Children's Hospital, envelopes will be provided. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Kim Patterson with Academy Health Services for all the love and care she provided Sharon over the last 15 years.
