Sharon Lynn Purvis

Sharon Lynn (Smeltzer) Purvis, age 69 of Dayton, went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born June 25, 1948 in Phoenix, Arizona, the daughter of the late Howard Smeltzer Sr. and Dorothy Bocock.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Howard Smeltzer, Jr..
Sharon is survived by her husband, Charles Purvis Sr.; children, Charles Purvis, Jr., Tina Herald, Willard Purvis, Darla Purvis, Sonya (Chris) Gambrell; sister, Virginia (Dennis) Murray; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She loved going to church and singing, gardening, history, going places, sewing, cooking, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She was greatly loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm at Newcomer North Chapel (4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, OH 45424). Funeral service will begin at 1:30 pm. Burial will follow in Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
