Sharon L. Atkins

Sharon Lynn Atkins, 55, of Dayton, passed away July 17, 2016. Sharon was born in Akron, Ohio on December 19, 1960. Sharon worked for Heartland of Kettering and Academy Nursing. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, James Atkins, daughters, Christina (Marco) Salas, Katherine Atkins, Tara Atkins; granddaughter, Serenity Salas; mother, Betty McCalister; sister, Cheryl (William) Vellenga; brother, John (Tiffany) McCalister; nephews, Curtis Vellenga, Matthew Vellenga, Grant McCalister; niece, Grace McCalister; and several other relatives and special friends.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Daryl McCalister and father, John McCalister.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 from 2-3PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road in Dayton. A memorial service will immediately follow at 3PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
