Sharon L. Barclay

Sharon Lynn Barclay was born on April 19, 1957 in New York to Edward and Mary Lee Barclay. Sharon was the youngest of two children. Sharon gave birth to her only child Danyel Jackson in 1985. Together with her Mother, after being raised and educated in New York, Sharon decided to move to Ohio to begin a new life for their family. In 2005, Sharon became affectionately known as Nana, with the first of her three beloved grandsons being born, Mark. With Taj and Dylan to follow.

For the first part of her professional career Sharon worked for Prudential Life Insurance in New York. Upon moving to Ohio, Sharon worked for and retired from AT&T due to medical illness. Those who knew Sharon loved her dearly. She was more than a Mother and Nana. She was a Sister, God Mother, Auntie and a confidante to many. Sharon was the epitome of a beautiful woman and soul. Her trademarks that will never be forgotten were her love for shopping, cooking and reality TV.

Unexpectedly, Sharon departed this life, but she will never be forgotten. Sharon was known for giving only her best; which included cooking her Roasted Chicken, Chicken Wing and Pork Roast Sunday Dinners. She will always be remembered for her loving, but stern "talking to's." Sharon was not one to only tell you what you wanted to hear, she told you want you needed to know. Everyone knew that when they spoken with her she gave a combination of love, honesty and life lessons.

On Thursday, June 8th, after 60 years of living. The Lord called Sharon home to be with her Father, Mother and many others whom she loved dearly. Sharon leaves to cherish her legacy and memory. Her daughter, Danyel Jackson (Derick); Nana's boys Mark Williams Jr., Taj Watenza-Jackson and Dylan Jackson; Brother Michael Barclay (Connie); Nephew Jason Barclay (Crystal); Niece Shannon Barclay; Aunt Charlotte Carter; Cousins Chris Carter, Kevin Carter and Lydie Davis; Great-Nephew Jason Micheal Barclay; Dear Friends Erica Smith, Bridgette Anderson, Carol Alexander, Joanie Bean and Charles Sanders. Not to exclude any additional close dear friends and loved ones.
