Shannon L. Chasteen

Shannon L. Chasteen, age 66 of Dayton, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 20, 2018. He was born May 16, 1951 in Houston, Texas, son of late Willis A. and Betty Jean Chasteen.
Shannon is survived by his sisters, Linda Chasteen, Karen Robinson and Marleen (Joel) Harris; nephews, Matthew (Allison) Harris and John (Sarah) Harris; great niece, Leila and great-nephew, Andrew as well as numerous cousins and friends.
Shannon was a 1969 graduate of Belmont High School. He attended Georgetown College in Kentucky as a ministerial student, and was also a talented gymnast specializing on the rings and in tumbling. He was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Kettering where he served as a Sunday School teacher and prayer partner. Shannon enjoyed computer technology, studying the Bible, playing chess and following golf.
Family will receive guests from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on Friday, April 27, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Kettering. Funeral services will follow visitation at 1:00 pm also at the church. Burial will be at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Newcomer Funeral Home at 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, OH 45439 to assist with funeral expenses. www.newcomer.com
