Gregory "Shane" Collins, age 48 of Riverside, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born March 23, 1970 in Dayton, Ohio to Charles "Chuck" (Janice) Collins of Brookville and Judith "Judy" Wilson of Riverside.
He is preceded in death by his step-father, Robert "Bob" Rushbrook and his beloved dog, Dallas.
Shane is survived by sisters, Sherry (Bob) Bannister and Tammy "T.C." (Melissa) Collins; Toni (Todd) Faison, Candy (Rick) McGee and brother Charles "Chuck" Collins II; cousin and "brother", Tyler Greene; and cat, Sting; step-siblings as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and cousins.
Shane was a 1988 graduate of Walter E. Stebbins High School and received his bachelor degree from Urbana University. Shane was self-employed in lawn care and provided service to many area properties. He enjoyed cooking for family and friends, loved fishing in his leisure and had a soft spot for animals.
A memorial gathering will be held from 5:00-6:30 pm Friday, April 13, 2018 at Newcomer South Chapel, Kettering. A memorial service will immediately follow at 6:30 pm also at the South Chapel. Shane will be laid to rest during a private service at The Pines Cemetery, Lebanon. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton at 1661 Nicholas Rd., Dayton, OH 45417.
