Sarah Jane "Midge" French, age 69 of Dayton, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Spring Hills Singing Woods Nursing Home. She was born December 31, 1949 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Raymond and Allie Matheney.
Midge was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a graduate of Kiser High School in Dayton. In 2012, she retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 27 years as a mail carrier. Midge was an animal lover, enjoyed reading books and shopping for her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie and Donnie Matheney.
Sarah will be missed by her husband, Ronnie French; sons, Tony (Anna) Cox; Ronnie (Jackie) Cox, Steven (Catherine) French; nine grandchildren; Leah, Aaron, Brooke and Talon Cox; Cody, Courtney and Caleb Cox; Tyler and Zoey French; sister, Mary Ellen; and brother, Larry Matheney.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 28, 2019 from 3-5 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Midge's memory to the Humane Society of Greater Dayton.
