Sarah Jane (Courtney) Kuhns, age 82, of Dayton, passed away November 26, 2019.
She was born November 8, 1937 in Dayton, Ohio to the late Ed and Bertha (Ballinger) Courtney. Sarah Jane was retired from GM/Inland Division after 27 years. After her retirement, Sarah Jane worked as a Travel Agent. She was a member of the Miamisburg Moose Lodge 1645, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Miamisburg 2306, and the Ladies Auxilary American Legion Post 165 Miamisburg all for over 40 years, as well as a former member of the Zion Church in Largo, FL.
Sarah Jane loved to travel, enjoyed playing bingo, and scrabble and was an avid "Facebooker". Most of all, she loved her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur "Scook" and Chester Courtney, her sister, Virginia McFarland, and several nieces and nephews.
Sarah Jane is survived by her 3 daughters, Denise Wren, Vicki Everetts (Jack Skelton), and Butch and Cindy Everetts-Lawson, with whom she made her home and who lovingly cared for her. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Deron Wren, K.C. Wren, Matthew (Cyndy Shelton) Everetts, Dustin (Stephanie Cox) Norvell, Robert Lawson, Jr., Justin (Savannah Rudy) Lawson, Amanda (Nick) Hill-Hampton; her great-grandchildren, Bronson Wren, Layla Wren, Taylor (Robert Girdley) Everetts, Katlynn Everetts, Michael Shelton, Bryson Hampton, DJ Norvell, Derek Everetts, Mikayla Bosier, Payton Lawson, Brayden Lawson, Zachary Lawson, Layla Lawson; her great-great-grandchildren, Kinnedy Everetts, Cain Girdley, Brayden Girdley, Alyx Girdley, Urijah Girdley; 51 beloved cousins; numerous nieces, nephews; and Kim Swango and Lily Mackey Robinson who were like daughters to her.
Sarah Jane was a wonderful mother, grandmother, grandma great, daughter, and sister. She was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2019 from 1:00pm until time of her Celebration of Life at 3:00pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd.
