Sara Clonts Teal, age 89, of Huber Heights, OH died Friday, February 16, 2024 at her home. She was born October 22, 1934 in Selma, AL, the daughter of the late Howard A. and Rosa Lowery Clonts. She was preceded in death by daughter, Alice; an infant daughter; grandson, Christopher Cramer; son in law, Marvin Rapenport; and sisters: Gerry Clonts Walsh and Clarice Clonts Rives.
She was a loving and caring mother, a real "people person" and a friend to all. She was a 1952 graduate of Albert G. Parish High School in Selma, AL. She came to the Dayton Area in 1962 when her husband was transferred here. She worked as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Robert R. Theil, and later worked and retired from Civil Service, Wright Patterson AFB in 1995 after 24 years, having worked in various Directorates throughout her career. She was a member of First Light Church, Vandalia, OH, active in the "Classics", and was a former choir member. She was also a member of the Huber Heights Senior Center and the 9:00 exercise group.
She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Billy E. Teal, Sr.; daughters: Vicki Rowland (Richard) of Huber Heights, Cathy Rapenport of Crystal Lake, Illinois and Janice Cramer (Richard) of Spring TX; son, Billy E. Teal, Jr. (Chris) of Centerville, OH; grandchildren: Amy Rowland Mullins (Brian) of Huber Heights, Shannon Rowland Cole (Matt) of Celina, TX, Chad Rowland (Kierston) of Englewood, Ryan Rapenport (Lauren) of Crystal Lake, IL, Jennifer Cramer Martin (Dustin) of Spring TX, Jonathan Cramer (Melanie) of Houston, TX and Caitlyn Preston (Colton), Spring TX; great-grandchildren: Kyle Mullins, Brooke and Blake Cole, Lillian and Penne Martin, Morgan & Makenzie Rowland and Lainey Rapenport; brother, Howard Clonts (Jean) of Auburn, AL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am on Monday, March 11, 2024 at First Light Church, 140 Elva Court, Vandalia, where a celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 am, John Seagraves officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sara's memory to First Light Church "Classics", Hospice of Dayton or to a charity of your choice.
