Sara Jane Batin

Sara Jane Batin, age 84 of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 25, 2019. She was born June 16, 1934 in Dayton, Ohio to Frank and Rose (Depalma) Rosati. Sara married William "Bill" Batin on July 31, 1954 in Dayton, OH, at Holy Trinity Church.
Sara enjoyed spending time with her children and grand children who were the joys of her life. She enjoyed writing poetry, sewing, nature, and scrap booking. Sara loved ancestry and discovering her families roots. She loved decorating doll houses and sharing them with her grandchildren. Bill and Sara loved to travel with their family, visiting the wonders of the United States with their children. They also visited Italy, her Italian homeland, in their later years where her father was born. Sara loved to cook for her family, as meal time was the foundation for their family gatherings. She loved her family dearly, and will be greatly missed by all.
Sara is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Bill; three daughters, Mary Batin, Therese (Michael) Slyby and Cathy (Richard Huffman) Batin; five sons, Chris (Heather), Joe (Barbara), Jim (Sharon), Bill (Mary) and Tony (Kristi) Batin; fifteen grandchildren, Julie and Jennifer Slyby, Amber Brock, Sierra, Selena, Lilly and Jasmine Huffman, Jennifer (Russ) Traufler, Chris (Sarah) Batin, Cathy (Rick) Gibson, Bruce (Ron Smith) Batin, Talon Batin, Gregory and Leigha, Nicholas and Emily Batin; nine great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren; a brother, Frank (Mary) Rosati; and nieces and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Ann Kunka; and two brothers Tony and Jimmy Rosati.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 from 9:00 to 9:45 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 272 Bainbridge Street, Dayton, OH. Mass of the Christian Burial will follow the visitation at the church at 10:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, OH.
