Santiago (Chagie) Gonzalez, age 42 of Dayton succumbed to injuries resulting from a tragic accident on Monday, July 25 at Miami Valley Hospital.
He was survived by his wife and best friend of 17 years, Angela Bowling; children Nathan (Nate) Gonzalez, age 14, Samantha (Sammy) Gonzalez, age 13 and Isabella (Bella) Gonzalez, age 10; his mother Frances Clark; his sisters Sheila (Richard) and Jessica (Arthur); and numerous extended family and great friends.
He had many passions, first and foremost being spending time with his wife and children. He cherished his time canoeing on the Mad River and riding his motorcycle. He was known by all for being a great friend. When he noticed anyone in need of help or support there was never any hesitation to provide it. Chagie loved working with his hands and the feeling of accomplishment after creating something. Chagie was very talented in construction and held many positions in many areas throughout his adult life.
A visitation for the public will be from 5:00pm-6:00pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Newcomer Funeral Home at 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Chagie's name may be dropped off at Newcomer until the end of his memorial, to provide for funeral expenses and support for his children until they can be reunited with their mother upon recovery.
