Sandra Lee Longo

Sandra Lee Longo, age 75 of Jamestown, passed away on Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born September 16, 1938 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of Leroy and Genevieve Kowalski. She was raised in Saginaw by her grandparents Fred and Gladys Sahr.
She was dedicated to God and to her family. Her heart and home were always open – whether through fostering, international guardianships or a 'home away from home', she and Robert provided a safe haven for over a dozen children. She was also a beloved Bible study and Sunday School teacher who was passionate about teaching God's Word to others.
Sandra is survived by her husband Robert; children Michelle (Stephen) Miller, Marc (Terri) Longo, Michael (Kimberly) Longo and Shawn (Tina) Menzie; four grandchildren Rachel and Anthony Longo and Katherine and Elizabeth Miller; and many others who know her as "Mom", "Momma Longo", "Mrs. L." and "Grandma".
Visitation and funeral service will be held at Shawnee Hills Baptist Church (3490 Jasper Road, Jamestown). Visitation is Thursday 5-8, and service is Friday at 11. Arrangements are with Newcomer Funeral Home in Beavercreek (937-429-4700). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism at PO Box 8585 Harrisburg, PA 17105.
