Sandra Kay Danks, age 78, of Xenia passed away peacefully on February 24, 2024. She was born in Dayton, OH to the late Verland and Clara Walters. In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her son, James (Scott) Danks; sister, Carol Coughlin and her brother, David Walters.
Sandy is survived by her son, William (Victoria) Danks; her grandchildren, Autumn (James) Osborne, Logan (Rylie) Danks; her sister-in-law, Sheila Walters; her brother-in-law, John Coughlin; her nieces Christina Pummell, Sherry (Kevin) Haines, Tracy Coughlin, Melissa (Brian) Martin; her nephew David (Andrea) Walters and many great nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She attended Kiser High School in Dayton, OH and retired as an employee from The Kroger Co.
Sandy's greatest joys came from spending time with her family and friends and taking care of her home and dog Grayson. She loved reading faith based books and watching her favorite PBS shows. She also loved going to the movies and eating at her favorite restaurants. She was a devoted Christian and was saved in 1987, which became a source of her strength and love that followed her throughout the rest of her life. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
Visitation for Sandy will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Newcomer Funeral Home (3380 Dayton-Xenia Road) in Beavercreek. Funeral services are the following day on Friday, March 1, 2024 at the funeral home at 10:00am.
Sandy will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville, Ohio.
Immediately following graveside services, a reception will be held at the VFW in Xenia Ohio (850 W 2nd St, Xenia, OH 45385).
