Sandy E. Courtney, age 70 of Moraine, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at her home. She was born February 11, 1948 in Greenfield, Ohio, daughter of the late Lawrence and Dorothy Perry.
In addition to her parents, Sandy is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Perry and Dennis Perry.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 43 years Michael R. Courtney; daughter, Mollie Courtney; son, Martin J. (Emily) Courtney; grandchildren, Louisa and Morris; siblings, Jackie (Larry) Vanzant, Susan (Steve) Pfister and Steve Perry; sister-in-law, Micki Curtner; brother-in-law, Charles Patrick and her rabbit Lola, as well as numerous other family and friends.
Sandy was a 1966 graduate of East Clinton High School and worked for many years in the retail industry. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, cooking for events, supporting her furry friends at the Humane Society of Greater Dayton, and her grandchildren, who brought her much joy in recent years. Sandy was also a member of Wilmington Presbyterian Church.
Family will receive guests from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Kettering. A memorial service will immediately follow at 6:00 pm Thursday, also at the funeral home and officiated by Deacon Debbie Roth. Riverside Cemetery, Troy, OH will serve as Sandy's final resting place.
