Sandra K. Baker, "Sandy", age 68, of Moraine, passed away on Friday, March 3, 2023. She was born December 19, 1954 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Robert Marion and Betty Ruth (Shaffer) Holbrook.
Sandy graduated from West Carrollton High School, Class of 1973 and went on to earn two Associates Degrees, one from Miami Jacobs Career College, and the other from National College.
In addition to her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her brother Steven Holbrook, brother-in-law Bob Burris and many other loved ones including her aunts and uncles.
Sandy is survived by her husband Matt Baker; her two sons Michael (Kim) Neargarder and Jason (Sara) Neargarder; her granddaughter Lauren Holland; her siblings Debbie Burris, Keith (Anita) Holbrook, Deanna (James) Roberts, along with many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and other family members.
Sandy had many interests including reading and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting and gifted many handmade treasures to her beloved family. Most of all Sandy loved to babysit her nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews and became very close to them. Recently she enjoyed spending time at the Miamisburg Moose Lodge with family and friends. Everyone delighted in being around Sandy.
She was very loving and kind, and excelled at being very caring and giving. Sandy was a devoted and loving mother who centered her life around her sons and loved spending time with them. Sandy was always smiling, and had a happy and bubbly nature. She was a very special person and in spite of many struggles along her journey she found the good in everyone.
Sandy was beloved by her family and will be held close in their heart.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Sandy will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg, with the procession leaving the funeral home after service.
