Samuel Waters, age 88, of Tipp City, passed away on February 7, 2021. He was born in Rome, Georgia, on June 18, 1932, the son of the late Samuel and Emma Waters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Diane Waters and Linda Barnes; son, Bruce Waters; step-sons, Fred Reynolds and Ronald Reynolds; and sister, Martha Hargrove.
Sam is survived by his beloved wife, Mabel Waters; children, Marla (J.B.) Bynum and Kerwin Waters; sister, Louvenia Waites; step-children, Debra (Charles) McGill, Regina (Daniel) Williams, Rhonda Reynolds and David (Kate) Reynolds; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.
He retired from Dayton Metropolitan Housing Authority and General Motors, then worked for RTA after. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church for over 10 years. In his free time, he enjoyed listening to music and singing in the church choir. Sam also loved to organize the annual Valentine's Day getaways.
Services will be held privately for the family, due to COVID.
