Samuel H.W. Schaffer, Jr. age 71 of Trotwood, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018. He was born January 17, 1947 in Sidney, Ohio.
Sam was a loving husband and a great father, and loved his animals. He dedicated his life to working and providing for his family.
Sam was preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Aldridge; father, Samuel H.W. Schaffer, Sr. and grandson, Brandon Schaffer.
Sam will be missed by his loving wife, Geneva; children, Terry (Amanda) Schaffer, Jeff Schaffer, Terry (Sheri) Cope, Sherri (Kenny) O'Neal and Brian Cope; seven grandchildren; three great grandchildren; brothers, Mark Schaffer, Paul Schaffer, Mike Schaffer and Wayne Schaffer; sisters, Alice Lutz and Ann Shumaker.
Family will receive friends Thursday, December 6, 2018 from 6 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Sam's memory to the Humane Society.
