Age 90, of Dayton, passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Judy and by two sisters & one brother.

Sam is survived by his wife of the past 64 years, Juanita Collins; five children, John (Carol) Collins, Sandy Collins, Ken Collins, Joyce (Jeff) Copenhaver & Gary (Joie) Collins; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and by his extended family & many good friends.

Sam was a veteran of WW II having served in the U. S. Army and went on to spend the rest of his life as a Master Carpenter. Sam had a passion for traveling, camping & fishing with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. The family will be receiving friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be at Dayton National Cemetery.

Contributions may be made in memory of Sam to the Disabled American Veterans, 1233 Creighton Ave., Dayton, OH 45420.
