Samuel Dickerson, age 82, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the Hospice of Dayton on Wilmington Avenue in Dayton, Ohio. Samuel (hailing from Asbury Park, NJ), known affectionately as Sam or Champ to his family and friends, touched many lives with his kindness, wisdom, and quick wit.
After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Samuel married the love of his life, Gloria (hailing from Harrisburg, PA), in 1966, with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Samuel was a devoted father to his daughter, Shawn Krumm, was a supportive father-in-law to Michael W. Krumm, and was predeceased by his beloved son, Shey Dickerson. He took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to Olivia Bussler (married to Jonathan Bussler), and as a great-grandfather to their son, Noah Bussler, as well as a grandfather to Pierce Dickerson.
Samuel was also a caring brother to Larry Dickerson and Lance Jackson, and he was predeceased by their sister, Debbie Dickerson. His loving family extended to include Lance's wife, Hendrika, and each of their children; nephew, Trevor Dickerson and his wife Jessica and their children; niece, Amanda Baity and her husband Barry and their daughter, plus additional family members, cousins, and friends including those from working 30+ years for General Motors and from working in the U.S. Air Force Reserves.
Samuel will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. He will forever remain in our hearts.
