MAROLO Jr., Samuel age 84, a native of Hazleton, PA and 53 year resident of Beavercreek, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2010 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 53 years June, his parents Samuel and Catherine Marolo; brother Anthony; sisters Helen Marolo, Lucille Boyle and Congetta DeLuca. He is survived by daughters Janet and husband Tom Meder, Joan and husband Glenn Kratz; son MSG Greg W. Marolo 2/19 Special Forces Group "Airborne" and wife Jennifer; grandchildren Sgt Stephen Meder, US Army Infantry, Amy and Emily Meder and Spc. Anthony Marolo, US Army and Alex Marolo; brothers Rocco and wife Joanna and Mauro; sister Ann Marie and husband Jim Czumbil; and a large extended loving circle of family and friends. Sam served our country in the US Navy during WWII as a Pharmacist Mate on the SS Drew in the Pacific Fleet. He was a 1950 graduate of Penn State University. He retired from WPAFB in the Materials Lab after more than 30 years of service. After retiring from WPAFB, Sam spent several years as a consultant at the University of Dayton. Sam was a loving, faithful and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St Luke Catholic Church 1442 No. Fairfield Road, Beavercreek, with Fr. Terrace Schneider celebrant. Family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home Beavercreek Chapel 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
