Hale, Sammie Jr., born August 4, 1924 in Cyrus, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Hospice of Dayton at the age of 90.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Edna & Sam Hale; and his loving wife: Betty; and seven brothers and sisters. Sammie was a member of Moraine Heights Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time with family and friends and most of all the Lord. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Sammie is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Kenneth (Kenda) Hale; grandson: Chris (Sara Lang) Hale; granddaughters: Lauren (Kerry) Linsenbigler & Corrin Zumwalt; great grandchildren: Brock, Taylor, Bevan, Caden, Coltin, Makenna, Karson, Owen & Lincoln; sister Snow; and dog Jake; and special brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews and special friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Moraine Heights Baptist Church, 5661 Munger Road, Moraine, Ohio. Interment will follow the service at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home – South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Moraine Heights Baptist Church. The family would like to send a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dayton for all of their loving support and kind words.
