Sally June Lisle

June 15, 1938 — July 9, 2023

Sally June Lisle, 85, of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9th in Centerville, Ohio.

She was born on June 15th, 1938 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Howard and Ingrid Brunzell, both immigrants from Sweden. Sally graduated from St. Louis Park High School and the University of Minnesota. She was in the glee club and had the voice of an angel. She met her future husband, Stephen Lisle, Jr., at the University of Minnesota. After graduating, she left in a convertible for Newport Beach, California to begin her career as an elementary school teacher. Steve was smitten and pursued her to California, brought her back to Minnesota, and married her in 1962. She continued to teach until their sons Steve and Tom were born. She was active in Junior League, enjoyed bridge and playing tennis. Sally and Steve worked hand in hand to build their businesses (automotive and commercial real estate). She and Steve were active in the Minnesota and Metro Automobile Dealer Associations. They enjoyed boating on Lake Minnetonka and camping in northern Minnesota in the summers. They were residents of Wayzata, Minnesota from 1968 to 1994, when they moved to Mesa, Arizona. In Arizona they were involved in commercial real estate and enjoyed all the outdoor activities Arizona had to offer.

Sally was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her sisters Betty Hammerlund and Barb Duepner.

She is survived by her sons Stephen Lisle III (Marcy), Thomas Lisle (Erin), her grandchildren Nicholas (Chelsie), Evan (Caroline), Annabel, and Bridget Lisle and by her great-grandchildren Sloane, Ingrid and Nicholas Lisle Jr. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Michael and Suzanne Lisle and their children Michael Jr. (Nicole) and Sarah (Ryan) Jacox.

Proverbs tell us that "A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life". Sally was a beloved wife and mother and will be missed by all.

A private memorial ceremony to celebrate Sally's life will be held in Arizona in November. For those who wish to honor Sally, remembrance donations may be made to Bella Care Hospice, 7625 Paragon Rd, Suite C, Dayton, OH 45459.
