Rydell E. Johnson

Rydell E. Johnson, aged 43, departed this world too soon on April 8, 2024, in Dayton, Ohio, leaving a legacy of laughter and love. Born on December 22, 1980, in East St. Louis, Illinois, he was the cherished son of Alfredrick and Esther Blassingame.

A devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Rydell's heart was ever expansive. Known for his spirited sense of humor, he was the family's beacon of joy—always eager to share a laugh and light up any room with his smile. An enthusiastic gamer, he found joy not just in playing but in the shared moments of camaraderie and challenge.

Rydell's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit made an indelible impact, touching lives and leaving a lasting imprint of warmth and kindness.

He leaves behind his loving parents, Alfredrick and Esther Blassingame; his beloved children, Rylee Johnson and Sir Rydell Johnson; his siblings, Cecelia (Kabaka) Hudson, Quann (Kristen) Johnson, Iva Blassingame, Deon Powell, Charlie (Wendy) Frazier, and Nyla Blassingame; along with many adoring nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends who will eternally treasure his memory.

Friends and loved ones are invited to gather and celebrate Rydell's life on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 12pm until the service at 1pm, at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio.
