Ruthie Madene (Carter) Roberson, age 91, formerly of Louisville, KY passed away January 2, 2022.
She was born November 29, 1930 in Central City, Kentucky to the late Andy P. and Ruby (Ashley) Carter. On May 31, 1953 Ruthie married Norman Wesley Roberson who preceded her in death on June 20, 1991. She was a charter member at Harvest Baptist Church in Fairdale, Kentucky where she also taught Sunday school for over 60 years. Over the years, Ruthie worked at Cane Run Baptist Church Day Care, TG & Y Department Store, and Davison's Draperies where she was a talented seamstress.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son Jeffrey Norman Roberson and her brother Paul Carter.
Ruthie is survived by her son Mark Allen (Paula) Roberson of Louisville, KY; daughters Lisa Ann (David) Fugate and Karen Denise (John) Kayler all of Englewood, OH; daughter-in-law Betsy Carolyn Roberson of Eden, NC; brother Jerry Carter of Louisville, KY, along with grandchildren Wesley Kayler, Stephanee Kayler, Mark Vincent, Brooke Gill, Mattie Fugate, Carrie Otis, Stephanie McCory; 16 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruthie was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and Sunday school Teacher and was a blessing to all those many lives she touched. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 12:30pm until time of service at 2:30 pm at Newcomer Louisville Chapel, 10304 Dixie Hwy, Louisville, KY 40272. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at 11:00 am at Hazel Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 1105 State Route 2270, Belton, KY.
