Ruth A. Spicer-Davidson

Ruth A. Spicer-Davidson, age 75, of Beavercreek, OH, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton. She was born December 24, 1941 in Wilmington, Ohio, the daughter of James and Charlotte (Musser) Rader. Ruth married Rev. William M. Spicer December 1962 and he preceded her in death. She then married Henry Davidson February 1995 at Wayside Chapel, Beavercreek, and he also preceded her in death.

Ruth graduated from Fairmont High School in 1959 and attended Sinclair Community and Miami Jacobs Colleges. She retired from the Dayton RTA in 2004 after 26 years, and also worked for FRS Transportation in Hillsboro. Ruth was an accomplished piano player and organist, she played in the Montgomery County Choir, and also The Singing Envoys. She was also a part of many gospel groups and churches in and around Dayton. Ruth served as a Pastor's wife and was a member of the Assemblies of God and Wayside Chapel. She was also a member of The Dayton Brethren in Christ Church, where she served on the Board of Director's and as the church organist. Ruth loved to go and travel, claiming she "Was gonna go until she stopped". She loved people unconditionally, never met a stranger and lived her life to serve others. She loved her family and her friends dearly and will be greatly missed by all.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, James W. (Jamie) Spicer and Paul D. (Amy) Spicer; one daughter, Tammy S. Davidson, a special grandaughter, who Ruth treated as a daughter, Jessica Spicer; eleven grandchildren, Heather (Dan) Piotrowski, Kaytlyn Spicer, Nanny Newport, Scott Davidson, Jason (Robyn) Davidson, Brian Davidson, Nikki (Tim) Pollard, Angel Spicer, Holly (Jason) Profitt and Faith (Kyle) Vaughn; seventeen great grandchildren, Darius, Markeis, Maliyah, Danny, Madelyn, Matthew, Melissa, Brittany, Faith, Hope, Cherish, Valkyrie, Jarod, Alex, Annabelle, Carter and Grant; her special cousin, Barbara (Woody)Sizemore; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husbands; a sister, Marcia West; four stepsons, Bill, Buck, Gary and Steve; and a nephew, Mark West.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at Trinity Christian Assembly Church, 1146 Grange Hall Road, Beavercreek, OH 45430 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 11 at 10:00 am at the church with Rev. Henry Chafin, Rev. William Rowe and Pastor Chad Chafin officiating. Burial will follow the services at Miami Corwin Cemetery in Corwin, OH. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Dayton (Ohio Hospice) or Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry c/o Trinity Christian Assembly in Ruth's honor.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Kettering Surgical ICU and Dr. Barker for their wonderful care of Ruth and her family, and Hospice of Dayton.
