Ruth Alice Rogers-Brinkel (Templeton), passed away from colon cancer on September 22, 2019.
Born May 28, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio. Daughter of Ralph Owen and Martha Jane (Von Derau) Templeton. Raised in Oakwood and was a member of the graduating class of 1966. An active American Legion Auxiliary Member for over 65 years, served most chairs in her Unit, District and Department of Ohio and her proudest achievement as a Third District President from 2004-06.
Preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Richard "Dick" F. Rogers; and second husband, Walter L. "Larry" Brinkel.
Survived by children, Jane A. Teach and Joseph M. Rogers; grandsons, Connor Rogers of Florida and Christopher Rogers of Germany; step-daughters, Lisa N. Brinkel and Amy Brinkel of California; brother, Robert O. (Betsy) Templeton of South Carolina; many cousins and dear friends; and her beloved orange tabby Pete.
